Pet Health, Dog Grooming and Spa Tips
Try to remember that not all products approved for human use are ok to use on pets and not all product approved for use on dogs may be ok on cats or other animals. Though a dog shampoo, for instance, might be non-irritating for dog use, products with fragrances or essential oils they should not be used on dogs. In fact, unless specifically mentioned, some of these products shouldn't be used on puppies. Their systems often can't tolerate these products. We're proud that we use products that are more natural than those using harsh detergents that you might find in popular use in some pet chains or supermarkets. All products should be used as recommended and then you get the most out of your purchase. We only sell products we actually use or that are recommended by our customers.
We Care About What You Put on Your Pets!
Admittedly, we don't have the largest line up of all possible dog grooming products, but that's because we try to handpick each item and are interested in natural and safe products. For instance, check out our Light Coat Shampoo. This product contains no DEA, phosphates (which deplete oxygen in our water supply by stimulating algal growth), no enzymes, no synthetic dyes, and no chlorine bleaches. The sudsy runoff is completely safe and will not harm kids, lawns, or other living things. Now how many dog grooming products can say that?
Your Purchase May Also Help Raise Living Standards in Poorer Countries -We're People Conscious Too!
We're also happy to introduce our line of shea butter products made by Sheapet(TM). All of their products are made with Fair Trade Nilotica Shea Butter, the finest cold-crushed, unrefined shea butter from the Nile basin. Wild-gathered and hand-crafted by cooperatives run by Ugandan and Sudanese women, Nilotica Shea Butter is additive and solvent-free. Access to new markets for this shea butter has dramatically increased household incomes while simutaneously raising the value of the living shea tree, reinforcing conservation for future generations. Sales of these products sustain these cooperatives and support Fair Trade.
Don't use Essential Oils on Cats
Don't use a dog product for a cat unless it is specifically designed for their use. Though both make excellent pets, a cat's physiology is very different from that of a dog's. They don't eliminate certain compounds the way dogs do and so certain substances which are harmless in a dog might be toxic in a cat. This may also apply to inhalation of essential oils so we advise that you not dilute them in your cat's presence or around birds.
